Albania Pilot
The Albanian pilot will focus on the integration of PV systems with AC and DC charging stations in four charging clusters. Each cluster is designed to maximize the use of locally generated PV electricity for charging sessions while meeting user demand, supporting higher EV penetration, and providing flexibility to the public grid. The demonstration uses the fleet of Bashkia Tirane, with more than 70 EVs averaging 62 kWh in capacity, and 10 EVs from OSHEE Group.
The four clusters represent different EV user behaviours and PV configurations, including rooftop residential and commercial systems as well as ground-mounted solutions such as solar trees or flowers. Two clusters are private and two are semi-private. All clusters are managed through an energy management system and aggregated into a virtual power plant to deliver grid services. The pilot also tests smart management under limited grid capacity, including EV-specific tariffs and conditional connection agreements.
Start pilot: November 2026
End pilot: January 2029
